The Conch and the Lotus: A Tantric Mandala Practice FILLING

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

The tantric tradition teaches us that the physical body is a mandala reflecting the geometry of the universe. The Pāñcarātra tradition, flowing from the grace of Vishnu and Lakshmi as the Paramatman (or Surpreme Spirit), gives us a direct understanding of how to access the divine source of all things. This asana practice is designed on the foundations of Lakshmi Tantra, a sacred tantric text describing the nature and function of Mahalakshmi, Vishnu's consort and pranashakti. The asana practice is designed around the sacred mandala described in the text, weaving in breathing patterns and visualizations and 360 degrees of rotation around the center of our mats and the axis of our spines. In addition, the practice will incorporate the five sacred components of tantric initiation. These are receiving the heat of the conch and lotus (symbols of Mahalakshmi and Vishnu), the awakening of the third eye center, receiving of a personal sacred name, the use and learning of mantras, and the rituals of surrendering to the divine. By the end of the practice, the consciousness will be shifted and expanded beyond the limited physical form into the infinite abundance and compassion of the Supreme Goddess. Both men and women are welcome in this workshop, as the Divine Mother underlies all life and the flow of spiritual grace. Students are asked to bring a second mat so that they can layout their space in an energetic cross, and facilitate the flow of practice.

My goal with practice and teaching is to lead people from "knowing" this to be true to realizing... Read More →
